French death metal Warside will unleash “Cognitive Extinction” full-length on April 17th via Gruesomme Records.
With Cognitive Extinction, Warside enters a new phase in its development. Built on the experience gained through two European tours, the album marks a new chapter for the band, featuring a renewed lineup on vocals and drums, bringing increased intensity, precision, and cohesion.
This album further refines the band’s identity, offering a rawer sound and more direct compositions.
The recording took place throughout 2025. The drums were recorded at Nostromo Studio in France, under the technical supervision of Kevin Paradis (Benighted, Mithridatic…). The guitars and bass were recorded at our guitarist Vincent’s home studio. For mixing and mastering, the band once again turned to Thibault Bernard at Convulsound Studios in France, who was able to create the raw, heavy sound we were looking for.
As with “The Enemy Inside,” the album cover was designed by Jesus Lhysta (Rotted Artist).
Formed in 2018, Warside is a French Death Metal band defined by its wild and relentless sound. From the outset, they made a name for themselves in the underground scene with their debut EP The Enemy Inside, released in 2020, which was praised by the extreme metal community for its intensity. In 2023, the band hit the road for their first European tour alongside Vader and Vomitory as part of the 40 Years of the Apocalypse Tour. The tour was a success, giving them significant exposure across the European scene and valuable onstage experience. Building on this momentum, they returned in 2024 to join Vader once again for the second part of the anniversary tour, performing in over 15 countries and cementing their reputation as a live war machine.
In 2026, the band will tour Japan alongside Aborted and sign with Gruesome Records for the release of their new album Cognitive Extinction, out on April 17, 2026.
